At the recent Drum & Bass Awards, Innovation scooped the top price for best promoter, yet another trophy to find space on the cramped shelves of their office.

Set up in 1994, Innovation have organised some of the biggest and most legendary drum and bass nights throughout London, the UK and continental Europe, drawing crowds from all over the world with ambitious events such as their unique five-year-old ‘Innovation In The Sun’ that gathers each year the biggest players of the drum and bass scene for a whole week of raving under the Mediterranean sun at Lloret Del Mar.

Ignoring hype and sticking to the true spirit of jungle, Innovation have been consistently championing the music and the scene that comes with it, through some live CDs recorded at their parties, by some of the best DJs, from old school legends such as Kenny Ken and Nicky Blackmarket to hot new starts such as Break or Alix Perez, selling them through specialists websites. But now, on the eve of their 15 years anniversary, Innovation have decided to step onto the official music arena with their first ever studio mix package released through the respected and established Ministry Of Sound brand.

And what a debut release! Innovation have invited one of the legends of drum and bass, an artist that has been at the top of his game since the tender age of 16 when he came up with the seminal, genre-defining ‘Orginal Nuttah’ and went on scoring the biggest drum & bass chart success of all times with ‘Shake Ur Body’. Respected equally in jungle circles and the music industry, Shy FX has agreed to offer his A&R and mixing expertise to this mammoth collection covering no less than 3 CDs.

Shy Fx has carefully selected over 40 tracks, covering current dancefloor favourites such as Hazard’s ‘Machete’, Chase & Status ‘Take Me Away’ or Alix Perez’ ‘Crooklyn’, and exclusive remixes of recent anthems. The old school selection is a breath of fresh air. Digging deep in his collection of vinyl, Shy Fx have rediscovered Innovation classics by Remarc, Pascal, DJ Rap and more, giving this mix a outstanding vintage quality.
